Genius Hour 1.4 The Limits of Human Endurance

Welcome back to my blog detailing my research into the limits of human endurance. Last time, I detailed my "Exertion Ratio Formula" that I developed to create a concrete scale to use when I do my treadmill test. However, to keep the observer as honest as possible and to make their observations as objective as possible, I needed to give factors for them to observe in the subject's performance during the test. At this point, I have only deduced 3 possible factors that keep the observations objective, while leaving room for the observer to make their own observations. The factors that I have derived are as follows:

-Breathing (Number of breathes in 10 seconds / # of factors eventually derived)

                  b/#f

-Gait (Rate on a scale of 1-5)

Heavily Fatigued- (1) Legs flailing, vertical oscillation great, heavy forward lean, heavy steps, arms not tucked neatly and uniformly

Moderately Tired- (3) Legs slightly off track, moderate vertical oscillation, running fairly tall, medium step weight, arms slightly out of line

Fresh- (5) Perfect gait, little to no oscillation, normal lean, light on toes, arms relaxed and tucked

-Heart Rate (Instantaneous, also on a scale of 1-5 by formula)

                  (HR * HR/MHR) / (MHR/5)

This is all that I have derived for now, but I will continue in this next week as I study more athletes and make my formula better.

Genius Hour 2.4 Movie in the Making

Film Blog 2.4  During this week of filming, I was gone, so the boys could only work on the very few scenes where my character is not involved. They were able to film a couple scenes and we still have a ways to go, but I am confident that we will do great things in the coming weeks with the movie. I was able to view the scenes that the gentlemen were able to make and I was extremely content with them! We still have some serious work to do, but it is all going to work out. We are hoping to have 2/3 of the film done by next week if all goes well.  According to my esteemed colleagues back at Very Nice Productions, they didn't have too many setbacks this week, except for me being gone, of course. Besides that, they were able to get done what needed to be done. However, we need to really get cracking down on this project, because some of our job schedules and other events can conflict with our filming process.   If we can really get after this projec...

Genius Hour 2.5 Movie in the Making

Film Blog 2.5   Go check out our Podcast!!! Due to this, we are going to have to buckle down extra hard in the coming weeks to pick up the slack that my absence created. I am deeply sorry for my need to travel abroad to Mexico and to represent my school, city, county, state, nation, and God in the glorious racetrack combat that is track. In contrition for my acts of absence, I vow to make a serious effort in the right direction to get myself and the gentlemen at Very Nice Productions back on track to making an Oscar-worthy film production that will knock off your pantaloons and thoroughly wow you. Now, as Bon Jovi once said, "Have a nice day!"
